![]() ![]() Is there a reason why more expensive offerings from Netgate or the official pfSense store are recommended over these I noticed Netgate doesnt carry the brand anymore. Pfsense was the most full featured, then ipFire, then Untangle being dead simple. using either the gateway IP address or an alternative monitor IP address. These new ones are (still) small, have 3 Intel NICs, support AES-NI, perfect amount of RAM and plenty fast enough. I did a lot of investigation into this topic about two years ago and ran into three router oss that seemed to work well, Pfsense, ipFire, and Untangle. It’s a Skylake i5-6500, based on Dell’s service tag this thing has a m.2 ssd slot and came from the factory with a 128gb ssd m.2, but it also said it came with 8gb ram and the seller listed it with 4gb so I figure it was gone thru.
